Woman shot during attempted home invasion succumbs to injuries

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A woman injured in an attempted home invasion in Harrisburg on Monday night has died.

Patricia Allen, 26, was shot at a residence in the 600 block of Dauphin Street around 11 p.m.

Harrisburg Police say Allen was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital following the incident. She immediately underwent surgery but police were notified Tuesday afternoon that she succumbed to her injuries.

FOX43 News has learned she was the daughter of Greater Harrisburg Area NAACP President Reverend Dr. Franklin E. Hairston-Allen.
