LANCASTER, Pa. -- The city of Lancaster was named the country's capital for one day during the American Revolution.

It occurred after the Continental Congress fled Philadelphia, which had been captured by the British.

Today, 240 years later, a proclamation and celebration were held in Penn Square in honor of Capital Day.
