York, Pa.-- Police in York say a 29-year old man is dead, following a shooting in the city.
Officers with the York City Police Department say it happened along the 200-block of East Philadelphia Street around 4:00 p.m. They say the shooting happened between two vehicles; the victim, Jamie Weimert of Cobb Island, Maryland was driving a truck. The man suspected of shooting Weimert, 27-year-old Michael Yeaple was in a red crossover type vehicle.
Police say Weimert was rushed to York Hospital, but died on the way. Yeaple was taken into custody for questioning, but was later released.
Police have not released any official information on what led up to the shooting. While witnesses say the truck rammed the crossover, the victim's fiancée tells FOX43 it was the other vehicle that rammed their truck. Both sides say the shooting occurred after Weimart approached Yeaple's vehicle.
An autopsy for James Weimert is scheduled for Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
