9 new officers sworn in Thursday in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG -- The Harrisburg Police Bureau welcomed nine new police officers to its ranks Thursday afternoon.

Eight men and one woman were sworn in by Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse and Police Commissioner Thomas Carter.

For many of the new officers, Thursday's accomplishment fulfills a lifelong goal.
