MECHANICSBURG — A 23-year-old Harrisburg woman is accused of making a bomb threat at the Upper Allen Township business she worked for on Tuesday.
Yiset Elizabeth Witter, of the 200 block of Boas Street, has been charged with Threat to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction, Terroristic Threats, Harassment, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, according to Upper Allen Township Police.
Witter was employed by Randstad Technologies on the 5000 block of Richard Lane. Randstad Technologies is contracted to provide support services for the International Monetary Fund in Washington.
According to the criminal complaint, Witter was informed by the company that her employment was going to be terminated at the end of the month.
Police say that Witter allegedly called the company’s IT desk and said “Just let everybody know that I’m going to be there in the morning and I’m gonna set a bomb and blow everybody up.”
According to police, the threat caused a significant disruption at the business, both in Mechanicsburg and in Washington. The IMF initiated security measures, and employees at Randstad Technologies were unable to work in the office, according to the criminal complaint.
Witter was arrested when she arrived for work on Thursday. Police found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle at the time of her arrest, the criminal complaint says.
She was arraigned and committed to Cumberland County Prison on $75,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
