LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.– At least one person was taken to the hospital after a shooting.
Emergency dispatch received a reported shooting call around 11:10 p.m. on January 23 in the first block of Broderick Court in Upper Leacock Township.
According to East Lampeter Township police, the shooting was part of an attempted home-invasion robbery. Police say two armed men wearing masks forced their way inside the residence. A struggle ensued, at which time one of the suspects shot the victim. Both suspects then fled the residence before officers arrived, police say.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. The extent of the victim’s injury is unknown.
Police say they believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no reason to believe there is a danger to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
