Scam Alert: Caller claims to be from Met-Ed

YORK COUNTY — The Northeastern Regional Police Department is warning the public of a scam.

Police say someone, claiming to be from Met-Ed, calls residents and threatens to shut off their electric if they do not pay.

This is a scam. Police add that residents should hang up and then report it via 911.
