LANCASTER — Lancaster police have released more details on a stabbing that occurred overnight on the 700 block of South Lime Street.

According to police, the incident happened around 12:46 a.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and surgery, police say.

Investigators are searching for Alexander Colon, 23, who they identify as a suspect in the incident. Police say Colon went to a residence on South Lime Street to confront his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

According to police, Colon threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, brandishing a knife and pointing it at her. He then went to a second residence on the same block, where he located the new boyfriend and assaulted him. Colon allegedly stabbed the man more than a dozen times in the back and on his left arm.

Colon then fled before police arrived, police say.

Police have charged Colon with two counts of Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and Simple Assault. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, but he is still at large.

Anyone with information about the incident or on Colon’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lancaster Police at (717) 664-1180, Lancaster Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-1913, or anonymously text Crime Stoppers by sending LANCS plus a message to 847411.
