HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa.- Local youngsters got the chance to practice football with a pro today.

The first ever ‘Restoring Unity in the Community’ event was held today at Morrison Sunshine Park in Harrisburg, with a special appearance by Harrisburg native Noah Spence of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With a recent rise in gun violence, it offered kids a chance to have fun and connect with people in the community in a positive way.

“We had some rain a little bit earlier and it didn’t phase them at all. They were having a great time and they’ve done a great job. They’ve been a pleasure to coach,” said Jeff Weachter, head football coach of Bishop McDevitt High School.

The event was hosted by New Beginnings Youth and Adult Services, which provides resources to kids and adults to stay safe in their homes, schools, and communities.
