LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.– A Lancaster man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle last week.

On July 5 around 12:15 p.m., police responded to a reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 3800 block of Oregon Pike in Warwick Township.

Emergency personnel evaluated the 21-year-old victim, who was reportedly running northbound or Oregon Pike on the roadway shoulder before attempting to run across both lanes of traffic before confirming it was safe to do so.

A woman driving a 2007 BMW X3 station wagon attempting to prevent striking the victim with her vehicle, but was unsuccessful.

The victim was taken to the hospital with reported moderate injuries.

The driver of the station wagon is not facing charges for the crash.
