WRIGHTSVILLE, York County, Pa. -- Littlestown traveled to Wrightsville to take on Eastern York on Friday night. Historically, the Thunderbolts have had plenty of success against Division 3 opponents.
Littlestown jumped out to an early lead, getting a few scores in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Golden Knights were down 13-0, but made a comeback when Dylan Zurin completed a pass and the Knights took it into the endzone. However, they still trailed 13-6.
Littlestown tried to answer, however, as Thunderbolts quarterback Jakob Lane tossed the ball downfield, but free safety Bryce Henise came away with the interception and returned it to get the crowd fired up. It's temporary euphoria, as Eastern York threatened to tie the game up, but the Golden Knights couldn't cash in.
The Thunderbolts wasted no time building and creating a lead as the game wore on. Littlestown running back Jason Penton scored on a powerful 70-yard touchdown run, shaking off several defenders on his way to the endzone.
Littlestown ended up defeating Eastern York, 40-14.
