HOWE TOWNSHIP, Perry County, Pa. —  A Newport man is in custody after an incident in Perry County.

Justin Lightner, 36, was taken into custody after a domestic assault that occurred at his home. Lightner was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, manufacturing a controlled substance and as a person not to possess a firearm.

Newport Police were notified of the incident at 8:30 a.m.

According to police reports, Lightner had multiple firearms and he had physically assaulted his girlfriend and their child.

Police found Lightner in a nearby wooded area and and used a taser on him after he assaulted an officer.

Police found several firearms, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his home, according to police documents.

State Police are on scene of a police incident in Perry County.

State Police are investigating an incident in the first block of Red Hill Road in Howe Township, Perry County.

According to State Police PIO, a PSP SERT Team is on scene.

The public is advised to stay clear of the area, but there is no danger to the public.
