EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, Lancaster County, Pa. -- Friday night saw 2018's version of the Lampeter Bowl, with Lampeter-Strasburg taking on Conestoga Valley at Conestoga Valley.
Entering the game, the Pioneers were just one of four teams without a blemish on the record in section two of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. But it's a strong conference, as six of the seven teams have winning records, including the Buckskins who entered at 2-1.
With the game tied at 7, Lampeter-Strasburg threatened early in the second half. However, Sean McTaggert fumbled the ball and the Buckskins recovered.
In the fourth quarter, Conestoga Valley finally broke the 7-7 tie with a go-ahead touchdown. Conestoga Valley's Bradley Stoltzfus connected with Joe Cardina for a 35-yard touchdown with just under 10 minutes left in the game.
The Buckskins took advantage of four Pioneer turnovers in the second half.
Buckskin fans stormed the field as players and fans celebrated together with trophy.
