Fire destroys Adams County home

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ADAMS COUNTY, Pa — Eight people are displaced after a fire ripped through a home in Adams County early Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the 600 block of Irishtown Road, in Oxford Township just before 4 a.m. for a house fire.

Assistant Chief Bryan Long of Irishtown Fire Company says the blaze started on the front porch, and has been ruled accidental.

There is no word on an exact cause and the house is a total loss.

Eight people were home at the time of the fire, and made it out safely.

Nobody was injured, but a service dog did perish.

The Red Cross is assisting the family says four adults and four children were displaced.
