PEQUEA TOWNSHIP, Lancaster County, Pa. — Police are currently investigating the death of a Lancaster city man whose body was found in a field on Saturday.

The deceased, a 48-year-old man, was found on the 2100 block of the New Danville Pike, between Long Lane and Stoney Lane.

The cause of death is under investigation. Police found no signs of trauma, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to reports. Police also believe the man was transported in a vehicle to the location.

Investigators are seeking information on people or vehicles that were seen in the area on Friday night or Saturday morning.

PREVIOUSLY: A portion of New Danville Pike in Pequea Township is closed due to a police incident, according to emergency dispatchers.

Police were dispatched to New Danville Pike, just after 7 a.m., Saturday.

The Lancaster Coroner office confirms that a body was found near route 324.
Authorities say the roads will likely be closed for several hours.
