UPDATE: Suspect arrested after fatal shooting in York

YORK, York County, Pa. — One person was arrested Sunday after a shooting in York left one man dead.

Zane Kenneth Senft, 22, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide according to York police. Senft was arrested without incident.

An investigation by the York City Police Department found that Owens had told police that the person who shot him was the last phone number in his phone. After viewing surveillance footage from the area and finding Owens’ cell phone, police found a vehicle that Senft had fled the scene in.

According to police reports, Senft fled the scene in a dark-color Mercury sedan. Police later found the sedan and Senft at a residence.

After police located the vehicle, a phone belonging to Senft matched the number that Owens had given them, said police.

PREVIOUSLY  REPORTED: The York City Police Department released the name of the man who was shot and killed early Sunday morning.

Police say Tyler Owens, 24, was shot around 165 South Richland Avenue at 1:37 a.m.

He was transported to York Hospital where he later died.

Authorities say he was the intended target.

In response to this incident and others in the area, a targeted law enforcement response has been initiated in the west end of York City, police say.
