MIFFLINTOWN, Juniata County, Pa. -- Friday night marked the final game of Gary Klingensmith's coaching career, one that spanned 50 years. He said it was time for someone else to take over, but before he stepped aside, he had just one more game as Newport visited Juniata.
Newport struck first in this one. Newport's Ethan Rode dove in for the one-yard touchdown run. The point after try was no good, so Newport took an early 6-0 lead. Juniata would trail 13-0 at one point in this contest.
However, Juniata's comeback began when the Buffaloes fumbled the ball. Juniata senior Christian Benner recovered the ball.
Freshman quarterback Jacob Condo went deep to Steven Ranck for a big play in this one.
The coach went out a winner as the Indians came all the way back for the 28-19 victory.
