HARRISBURG, York County, Pa. -- On Friday, Central York traveled to Central Dauphin's Landis Field for a Week 11 football matchup.
In the first quarter, Cental Dauphin turned good defense into offensive opportunities. Late in the quarter, Central Dauphin forced a fumble, and it was recovered by Mason Griffiths. The recovery set up a scoring play for Central Dauphin.
In the second quarter, Central Dauphin's Adam Burkhart found the endzone on a running play. He ,managed to make a nice leap over a defender, break a tackle and stay on his feet en route to the endzone. The score extended Central Dauphin's lead to 15-6.
But that wasn't Burkhart's only score in the second quarter. Burkhart fought through the crowd and leaped into the endzone to extend Central Dauphin's lead to 28-6.
The Rams moved into the semifinals with the 49-21 win over Central York. Central Dauphin will go to Manheim Township next week.
Red Lion was eliminated by Wilson Friday night, with a 36-0 loss.
