YORK, York County, Pa. -- Northern York and York faced off in stay in Class 5-A showdown on Friday night.
Dayjure Stewart had a strong game on the turf field in a messy game. For Stewart, it was a record-breaking performance. The Bearcats senior senior set a new district record with 463 rushing yards in the game. The Polar Bears had no answer for Stewart.
Northern York did not have a lot of success on offense. Blake Cruz swings took a catch out of the backfield and converted here on a third down play. The drive did not lead to points, however.
York got ground production from people other than Stewart as well. Tobee Stokes took a pass around the right side and didn't stop until he added to the total.
The Bearcats won 42-7.
They will travel to Shippensburg in the quarterfinals next week.
