Update: 19-year-old shot on West Market Street in York; Street is reopened

YORK, York County – York area man is recovering after being shot, Saturday morning.

Police say Yahke Kirene Jones, 19, was shot in the hip and taken to York Hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition.

Authorities say Kirene was the intended target.

Police have not identified a suspect.

West Market Street has reopened to traffic.


York City Police Department is investigating a shooting on the 500 block of West Market Street.

Emergency Management Agency say the shooting happened close to 10:30 a.m on Saturday.

Drivers can expect delays heading westbound on West Market Street.
