MANHEIM, Lancaster County, Pa. -- The top seed in 5-A, Manheim Central, hosted Governor Mifflin in Manheim on Friday night.
The Barons came out energized against Governor Mifflin, stepping up on defense and finding the endzone on offense.
On the first drive, Manheim Central quarterback Evan Simon tries to connect with wide receiver Ben Wagner to get a first down, but Governor Mifflin's Michael Franks got there in time to stop it, resulting in an incompletion.
Manheim Central settled for a field goal, but they made the necessary adjustments throughout the game.
On Manheim Central's second drive, a third down pass by Evan Simon was blocked by Governor Mifflin, forcing a punt.
Governor Mifflin's offense did fare much better with its turn with the ball. Manheim Central's defense dominated throughout, with nice tackles by Jake Harbach, among others.
The Barons offense got it in gear and came away with a big win. The final was 51-14. They will host Cedar Cliff next week.
