CHAMBERSBURG, Franklin County, Pa. -- The Greyhounds of Shippensburg went up against York High in the 5-A quarterfinals at Chambersburg on Friday night.
The Greyhounds forced an early turnover off a deep ball pass attempt. Shippensburg senior Adam Houser secured the interception and set his team up with good field position on a long interception return.
Shippensburg and Houser capitalized on the pick and Houser took it in for the score himself on offense. It was the first score of the game, coming off a second quarter run by the Shippensburg senior. The extra point was no good, however. The Greyhounds took the early 6-0 lead.
But that would be the only score for Shippensburg in this contest, as the rest of the game belonged to the Bearcats.
Dayjure Stewart ran for a district record 463 yards last week against Northern, and he kept it rolling against Shippensburg.
Stewart was red hot after halftime, as was the rest of the York squad. They put up 22 unanswered points to finish the game. York emerged victorious, with a score of 22-6.
