HUNTINGTON TOWNSHIP, Adams County, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police at Gettysburg arrested Chris Gartrell, 48, in connection with the death of 87-year-old Virginia Barbour of Adams County.
Troopers took Gartrell into custody just after 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd in Straban Township.
He is charged with criminal homicide and other related charges.
Gartrell is currently in Adams County Prison.
PREVIOUSLY: State Police are seeking a person of interest in connection to the death of an elderly woman in Adams County.
Police were called to a home on Peach Glen Idaville Road in Huntington Township for a welfare check on Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they found the body of 87-year-old Virginia Barbour inside the home.
According to police, a silver 2012 Chevrolet Impala with PA license HYJ-4804 was taken from the home. Six long guns, a .44 caliber pistol and $1,600 in statehood rolled quarters were also stolen.
