Six people injured in crash involving retirement home transport bus in Ephrata Township

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, Lancaster County — Several people were injured Tuesday morning in a vehicle accident involving a retirement community bus in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County.

According to police, the accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Royer Road and Rothsville Road. A station wagon driven by Nancy Nissly, 75, of Ephrata, struck the back end of a Luther Acres transport bus driven by Leslie Rineer, 68, of Lititz. The bus was carrying 13 passengers, police say.

Nissly was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Rineer and four passengers on the bus were transported to Wellspan Ephrata with minor injuries.

Akron Fire Company and multiple Ephrata-area EMS services assisted at the scene.
