At least three taken to hospital, multiple dogs dead after house fire in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa.-- At least three people were taken to the hospital and multiple dogs died after an early morning house fire.

Emergency personnel responded to the area of E. Ridge Road and Elicker Road in Monaghan Township around 2:20 a.m. for a reported fire with possible entrapment.

Upon arrival, crews found the occupants of the home on a second floor porch waiting for rescue.

Some of those people jumped off the porch roof, while one was rescued by ladder.

All of the occupants, including at least two adults and a child, were taken to the hospital.

There is no word on if any injuries have been suffered or the extent of any damage at this time.

Multiple dogs did perish in the blaze, while one was rescued.

According to Steve Cosey, the assistant fire chief at Monaghan Township Volunteer Fire Company, said that the fire appears to be accidental and isn't deemed suspicious at this time.

The fire is still under investigation.
