Pirates sign Melky Cabrera to minor league deal

PITTSBURGH– The Pirates have added another veteran option for the team’s outfield.

The team has signed outfielder Melky Cabrera to a minor league deal.

Cabrera, 34, spent the 2018 season in a reserve role with the Cleveland Indians.

He hit .280 with 6 HR’s and 39 RBI’s over 78 games.

Cabrera will have a chance to earn a roster spot with the Pirates out of Spring Training.
