Police: Man fell 25 feet after fight in Lancaster parking garage

LANCASTER — Police are investigating after a 25-year-old Columbia man was found unconscious after reportedly falling to the ground from a downtown parking garage Sunday at 1:31 a.m.

The victim is reportedly in critical but stable condition at an area hospital, according to police.

Police say the incident happened in the area of the Penn Square Parking Garage on East King Street. Responding officers located the victim on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive. The man was bleeding from a head injury, according to police.

Police spoke to people in the area and those who had contacted 911, and were told that there had been some kind of altercation involving the victim inside the parking garage prior to the incident. As a result, police say, the victim had fallen or was pushed from a height of about 25 feet to the ground below.

Police continue to investigate the incident, but no one has been taken into custody.
