YORK COUNTY -- York County residents are waking up to snow covered roads to start off the work week. Penndot says more than 300 trucks are on the road Monday morning clearing the main and back roads of snow.
More snow and possibly ice are on the way. If you need to hit the roads, follow the warning signs from Penndot. As of right now there are no plans from Penndot for speed restrictions.
Remember not to pass a plow truck unless absolutely necessary and remain a safe distance behind the truck while traveling. Stay at least 6 car lengths behind the truck.
Never travel next to a plow truck since there are blind spots where the operator can't see. Keep your lights on to help the operator better see your vehicle.
Also remember that under Pennsylvania state law, vehicle lights must be on every time a vehicle's wipers are on due to inclement weather.
