LANCASTER Pa.-- Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman's wants to here from Pennsylvania residents on how they feel about legalizing recreational marijuana. That's why he launched a statewide listening tour to gather input from residents about the possibility, and his next stops are in Lancaster and York counties.
Fetterman will visit Lancaster on Monday, March 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince Street.
Lancaster marks Fetterman's 20th stop in his tour of 67 counties. When he first made the announcement, Fetterman was joined by Governor Tom Wolf saying states surrounding Pennsylvania have implemented it, that we could learn from their efforts and better understand potential fiscal impacts.
So far, 10 states have legalized marijuana for recreational use.
He'll be in York on Tuesday, March 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. at York College's DeMeester Recital Hall, 441 Country Club Road.
Some who say they oppose the full legalization of marijuana, are concerned about the increase of crime and substance abuse. For those who say they are for it, think it would be a good way to increase statewide revenue. Auditor General Eugene Depasquale estimates that fully legalizing marijuana would raise $581 million annually.
