UPDATE (March 25, 10:15 a.m.): Police say that a Hazmat incident in Akron was to make sure a suspicious package wasn’t a bomb.

According to police, the recipient of the mysterious package, which had no names or addresses on it and was described as “very crude looking,” was not expecting any deliveries.

Inside the package, a can, about the size of a paint can, was found. The can was found to contain a mysterious liquid, according to police.

The State Police bomb unit determined that there was no explosive or components associated with explosives.

The Lancaster County HazMat team took samples of the liquid and tested it.

It did test positive for a milk-type product.

AKRON Borough, Lancaster County – An intersection is shutdown due to heavy police presence.

High Street and 10th Street are closed to the public, according to the Lancaster County Emergency Dispatch.

Akron Police Department, Akron Fire Company and Lancaster County Hazmat responded to the scene.

Dispatchers say no injuries have been reported and there is no immediate threat to the public.
