YORK COUNTY, Pa.– Seven people suffered minor injuries after a school bus and vehicle crash.

According to emergency dispatch, the crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. on Maryland Ave. at N. Belvidere Ave. in York City.

After the crash, the school bus hit a fence outside a home on Belvidere Ave.

Six students and the bus driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The bus was transporting students to the STEAM Academy for the York City School District.

The school district has released the following statement:

This morning, a bus transporting students from William Penn Senior High School to the Edgar Fahs Smith STEAM Academy was involved in an accident.

Emergency responders are on scene. Six students will be transported to the hospital for assessment of possible injuries. The driver of the school bus and the driver of another vehicle involved in the accident will also be transported to the hospital.

All other students on the bus will be evaluated by the school nurse.

The school district is in the process of contacting parents of the affected students and will report more information to the public when it is available.
