One dead, three injured after crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa.– A woman is dead and three others are injured after a crash.

The crash occurred on April 28 around 9:50 a.m. on Buchanan Trail West in Antrim Township.

According to police, a Honda Accord was driving west on Buchanan Trail West when a Ford Focus, containing a driver and passenger, was stopped in the westbound travel lane attempting to make a left hand turn into the Church of God’s parking lot in the 4400 block of Buchanan Trail West.

The Honda Accord struck the rear of the Ford Focus, pushing the vehicle into the eastbound lane of travel when it was struck on its front bumper by a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling.

Both the Focus and Cherokee came to a final rest within the Church’s parkway, off the eastbound lane of travel.

The passenger in the Ford Focus, and 83-year-old Chambersburg woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of each vehicle were taken to the hospital for their injuries. There is no word on their conditions at this time.
