LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.– UPDATE (10:00 a.m.): A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Lancaster city.

On May 13 around 11:00 p.m., police responded to a home in the 700 block of S. Lime St. in Lancaster for a reported shooting.

While en-route, police were told that the person who fired the gun was still outside the building on the sidewalk.

Upon arrival, police made contact with a man who had laid down on the sidewalk and put his arms out to his sides. He had also placed a handgun on the ground, in view of officers, but out of his own reach.

Police secured the firearm and checked the man for any additional weapons.

Inside the residence, police found a 22-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper arm.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, and his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting, but it appears that the men involved knew each other and it was not a random act.

As of this writing, no charges have been filed, and it remains an active inevstigation.

PREVIOUSLY: One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting.

According to emergency dispatch, the shooting occurred around 11:00 p.m. on May 13 at an apartment in the 700 block of S. Lime Street in Lancaster city.

Dispatch said that one person was injured and transported to the hospital.

There is no word on that person’s condition at this time.
