CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Police are investigating a deadly crash.

The crash occurred on Interstate 81 Southbound near mile marker 27.2 in Southampton Township.

According to police, the crash occurred as a Toyota Siena and an unknown vehicle were traveling southbound on Interstate 81.

The unknown vehicle was in the left hand lane while the Toyota was traveling in the right hand lane.

When the Toyota attempted to pass the unknown vehicle, authorities say it entered the left hand lane and struck the unknown vehicle.

This caused the Toyota’s rear driver’s side to get pinned under the front passenger’s side.

The crash release says that the Toyota eventually separated from the unknown vehicle, but began to lose control.

The unknown vehicle reportedly began to first spin then flip over as it traveled off the right side of the roadway.

According to the crash release, the Toyota came to a final rest about 30 feet from the roadway.

One of the passengers, 64-year-old Manjulaben Patel, was found dead upon arrival at the scene.

The unknown vehicle failed to stop and render aid and fled the scene.
