SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPMT) - A fire damaged the Weis Markets store on Lincoln Highway early Sunday morning.

In a statement, Weis said the store is extensively damaged and is expected to be closed indefinitely. It is currently working with the Gap Fire Company Fire Marshall to determine the cause of the fire.

Associates have been offered temporary reassignment to its other locations on Willow Street Pike and Lincoln Highway East.

Lancaster County emergency dispatchers said the call came in around 1 a.m. for an automatic alarm at the store after it had closed.

Firefighters from Chester County were called into help fight the fire and more than 40 pieces of fire fighting equipment were used, according to 911 dispatchers.

Crews left the scene around  11 a.m., according to dispatchers.
