YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A York County man is facing multiple weapons violations and drug charges for allegedly trading drugs for tools and cars.

According to the Carroll Township Police Department, on Oct. 23, officers were assisting Upper Allen Police in an attempt to try and contact Nathan Murphy at his home.

Officers found that Murphy, 35, had been driving a yellow motorcycle with a fraudulent license plate. The motorcycle was reported stolen to York City Police in July of 2023.

A search warrant was conducted at Murphy's home by Upper Allen Police related to a separate investigation. While serving the search warrant, Murphy arrived home and was found to have a shotgun in his car.

While police were inside Murphy's home, a gun safe was observed open, alongside an AK-47 style rifle and handgun. Due to previous criminal history, Murphy is not allowed to possess firearms.

While inside the residence, a large amount of drug paraphernalia was also observed, according to Carroll Township police.

Based on the observations, officers obtained a search warrant related to the items that were viewed inside the home.

During the serving of the warrant, multiple firearms, drugs and drug-related items were allegedly recovered.

A large number of items, including tools, ATVs and cash were located in the home, several of which were reportedly stolen.

A further investigation revealed that Murphy was allegedly trading cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine in exchange for tools, automobiles and trailers.

Many of the stolen items have been returned to their respectful owners and Murphy is facing multiple felony charges relating to weapons, drug and theft offenses, according to police.

Murphy was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 20. He has been arraigned and his bail has been denied.
