CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — It's the story of a French bachelor, who is juggling three fiancées, and trying to keep from finding out about each other.
Oyster Mill Playhouses’ new show "Boeing Boeing" takes its audience on a wild ride with this production.
In the production, Graham Woods plays the main character Bernard.
He says acting in a farce is exhausting, especially when your character is juggling a lot.
“It zaps the energy right out of you doing a play like this. Especially, when that snowball gets built up and you have to put all this energy into it. It’s very fast-paced,” said Woods.
During the play, Bernard’s housekeeper, Berta, is annoyed by the chaos Bernard’s character causes in the play while trying to hide his fiancées from one another. She always has to clean up his mess.
“She’s gone through this with him for a long time and now it’s all coming down to this one day, where everything that can possibly go wrong, goes wrong. And so, she’s not in a good mood but watching her fall apart is pretty funny,” said Anne Marino, who plays Berta in "Boeing Boeing."
Woods says the play has some old language, but the humor and relatability remain. He says this type of show is needed in today’s day and age.
“I feel like if we need anything right now, it’s to go to a show, relax a little bit, but not necessarily be watching this huge drama, just something that’s not quite as serious. You don’t really have to look too much into it. More than ever before, I just feel like we need that today,” said Woods.
Performances of "Boeing Boeing" at the Oyster Mill Playhouse run through Sept. 29. Those interested can purchase their tickets here.
