LANCASTER, Pa. — The Fulton Theatre's latest show is sure to excite the whole family with performances they just won't be able to let go.
The Lancaster County theatre is offering its audiences an opportunity to see the national Broadway tour of "Frozen."
“The movie is obviously magical, but what the Fulton Theatre brings to it is really epic,” said Taylor Quick, who plays Anna.
The show details the adventure of two princess sisters. When Elsa mistakenly freezes the entire kingdom, it is up to Anna to find true love to save their land.
Quick says she can take some lessons away from playing the character, Anna.
“A lot of Disney princesses are buttoned up, and I love those too, but I think what makes Anna so unique is that she’s just not afraid to be herself,” explained Quick.
Her castmate says he’s taking away a similar message from his character.
“He does not care what he looks like, what he says [or] how he really impacts you. I can be very vain, and I love a mirror [but] that’s not how [he] works,” said Owen Scales, who plays Kristoff.
Quick says playing an iconic role is exciting but also comes with pressure.
“I’ve turned that pressure into an amazing honor because all the little kids that come to see the show are dressed as Anna and Elsa; it’s for them,” expressed Quick.
Scales says the on-stage production of "Frozen" differs from the movie because the tone of the songs informs the audience about who the characters are.
“With Elsa, we know her for these epic ballads and then with Anna, it’s the more sweeping golden age style, with Kristoff it's very blue grassy and folksy,” said Scales.
Scales and Quick told FOX43 that above all else, they hope this show brings people joy.
“The show is really for everyone because there’s love found in not only family, but friends, and it's magical [and it] will transport you,” said Quick.
Performances of "Frozen" at Fulton Theatre run through December 29th and you can purchase tickets here.
