FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — It’s the classic story of how four New Jersey boys became some of the greatest pop stars of all time

Totem Pole Playhouse in Franklin County brings the classic story of how four New Jersey boys became some of the greatest pop stars of all time to the stage, in its production of "Jersey Boys."

“It’s like a rock concert as opposed to an experience on Broadway. More or less you come, and we are including you guys with us,” said Andrew Natale Ruggieri, who plays Frankie Valli in the musical.

"Jersey Boys" is filled with the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons from the 60s and 70s. Ruggieri says the well-known music brings more enjoyment to the show.

“It’s aged like a fine wine. I think it only gets better with time and I think anybody who comes will be dancing in their seats,” said Ruggieri.

He also says the show has its highs and its lows.

“There are some heavy moments in the show; where you see things fall apart in the group and there’s fights and things like that. But in the end, it’s all about family, they all come together, and they make this gorgeous sound,” said Ruggieri.

Even though there are heavy moments, Hank Von Kolnitz says he feels light when playing his role as Bob Gaudio.

“I’m leaving every night, not holding on to any baggage with joy at how free it is to do this with these guys,” said Von Kolnitz.

“This is a show where you will leave humming a song,” Von Kolnitz continued. You don’t leave without a song in your heart.”
