Harrisburg Academy presents 'Beauty and the Beast'

Students at the Harrisburg Academy in Cumberland County are preparing for their upcoming performances of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Students at one central Pennsylvania school are gearing up to perform their take on a Disney classic.

The Harrisburg Academy in Cumberland County will soon put on a production of "Beauty and the Beast."

Those involved say the performance brings together students from the academy's middle and upper schools for a show filled with tons of fun.

"I'd really like people to take away how much love and passion everyone put into this show and how much that goes into our school here," Hadley Qualls, cast member, said. "Everyone here loves each other, and it's just a really magical moment and I hope everyone enjoys."

The students will perform the show four times at the Academy's McCormick Auditorium from March 1 - 3.

"Our music teacher last year gave us these 5 beads that stood for friendship, love, passion, trust and mutual respect, and you see that everywhere in the show especially, but even throughout the school day," Jeremy Shover, cast member, said.

Those interested in seeing "Beauty and the Beast" can buy tickets online.
