LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Bacon lovers, get ready to flock to a Lancaster County park this weekend.
Bacon, bacon and more bacon will be on the menu Saturday at Intercourse Community Park for Stoltzfus Meats' Bacon Fest.
The event celebrates the company's 70th year in business. Stoltzfus will also recognize the occasion in the third week of September with in-store deals, Dana Krebs, the company's marketing coordinator, said.
As for what people can expect at Bacon Fest...
"Bacon," Krebs laughed. "Enough said."
The event is family friendly. There will be food trucks--each one featuring a special bacon dish--live entertainment including a smoking demo and a cooking demo, free samples and more for guests to take part in.
Despite being in business for nearly three-quarters of a century, Stoltzfus Meats still holds onto the values--and some of the recipes--of its founders.
"Ours is processed but it still has a lot of hands-on touch to it," Travis Rohrer, president of the company, said. "We trim it by hand, we do it to our specs, we get special bellies in that match the quality that we want."
The event is free to attend and will run from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Intercourse Community Park, located at 3730 Old Philadelphia Pike in Gordonville, on Saturday, Aug. 10. For a full schedule of events, click here.
