GRANTVILLE, Pa. — The second Commonwealth Vehicle Auction of the year took place on Tuesday at Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania.
Around 350 vehicles were up on the auction block.
The Pennsylvania Department of General Services says the money made from this auction will go directly back to the state.
The vehicles available are no longer used by Commonwealth agencies and were put up on the auction block. Tuesday's auction also featured a number of vehicles seized by law enforcement.
Cars, SUVs and utility vehicles were up for bid from manufactures such as Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC and Jeep. This auction featured alternative fuel vehicles as well.
Before making your way to the auction block, members of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services has some tips.
"Definitely do your homework," said Sal Cuomo. "Go to Kelly Blue Book, go to AutoTrader. Look at the vehicles we are offering, see what the dealers are selling them for. When you're there and there's a dealer out bidding you, that means there's still a lot of money to be left on that and you're getting a great deal."
Buyers must purchase with certified funds in the forms of a money order, cashier's check or certified check, made payable to "Manheim Keystone PA." No cash will be accepted.
You will not be able to pre-register for the auction on Tuesday; it had to be completed prior to the auction. But, there will be many more auctions throughout the year, the next one being scheduled in June.
