Three Legacies Wrestling gives back to community with Downtown Showdown

Founder Ricardo Rodriguez says the Downtown Showdown will be full of "family friendly, high-flying, high-impact action" and is appropriate for all ages.

LANCASTER, Pa. — A night of professional wrestling will hit the ring in Lancaster next weekend.

Three Legacies Wrestling, founded by Chris Dreisbach and former WWE star Jesus “Ricardo” Rodriguez, is preparing to host the Downtown Showdown on March 30.

The academy hosted its first show in September 2022 and has seen exponential growth since then, pushing them to host bigger and bigger monthly shows and several special events, like the Red Rose Rumble at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

"It's been an amazing run so far," Rodriguez said. "The growth that has happened in just a short time has been astounding, and getting the whole community involved has been a huge key to what we've been able to to do, so I'm happy to be continuing that legacy."

Dreisbach says he thinks wrestling has gained so much newfound popularity because people like to see the athletic theatre and lose themselves in the show for a few hours.

"I think it will never lose popularity for that exact reason--the connection that you can build with a community through wrestling," he said.

Rodriguez says the Downtown Showdown will be full of "family friendly, high-flying, high-impact action" and is appropriate for all ages. The show will feature a lot of local stars, as well as some international stars who have not been seen on TV in the last few years.

Three Legacies will also crown the first-ever 3LW Tag Team champions.

A dollar from each ticket sold will go to the Lancaster County Food Hub. Tickets for the event are available here.

"As a sitting member as the Lancaster County Food Hub, we really wanted to partner with them and get as much food and as much money together to help feed our unhoused neighbors, anybody who's struggling with food insecurity, and really just turn this into a huge community event--hopefully every year," Dreisbach said.

The Showdown will be held on Saturday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in Freedom Hall at the Lancaster County Convention Center, located at 25 S. Queen St. in Lancaster.
