Family Farm Days returns to Oregon Dairy

Oregon Dairy and the Lancaster County Agriculture Council are hosting Family Farm Days at The Farmstead at Oregon Dairy Tuesday, June 11 through Thursday, June 13.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — In Lancaster County, you can experience firsthand what it's like to work on a farm.

Oregon Dairy's Family Farm Days return at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with all kinds of educational fun, while learning where your food comes from.

This event, put on by Oregon Dairy and the Lancaster County Agriculture Council, will be from June 11 through June 13 with free family fun, free food samples and all sorts of other activities.

It's an event that's a long-time tradition, as they've been hosting this since the 1980s.

Maria Forry, the co-owner of Oregon Dairy, told us this event has seen multiple generations, "It is so fun because there are adults coming back with their children saying, 'my parents brought me when I was a kid.'"

The biggest focus of Family Farm Days is education and getting more people involved.

"There's only about 2% of the population involved in agriculture... We want to be sustainable... we've been around for generations, and we want to continue for generations to come, and if we don't have farmers then we don't have food," Forry said.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday with extended hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Admission and parking are FREE.

Activities at the event include:
