Penn State THON weekend doesn't roll around for another seven months yet, but the organization is kicking off its 2025 fundraising with an "Ignite the Fight" campaign.
This is the fourth year of the campaign, which marks the start of the fundraising year and celebrates THON's year-round efforts in the fight against childhood cancer.
THON is the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, with over 16,500 student volunteers committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer, the organization said.
"Ignite the Fight" campaign initiatives will be unveiled on Penn State THON's Instagram account throughout the month of July. Here's a sneak peak:
- July 1 – Ignite the Fight Social Media Challenge
- Engage with the @PennStateTHON Instagram post and follow the steps in the caption to be entered into a lottery for a chance to win crediting funds.
- July 2 - 12 – DonorDrive App Challenge
- Any student who downloads the app will be entered into a lottery to win crediting funds. Simply download and login to the DonorDrive app to be eligible for crediting funds.
- This year, alumni can continue fundraising with DonorDrive. They can choose to register individually as participants on their organization’s page, fundraising alongside current organization members. Alumni who want to fundraise individually and credit their organization can register as an “Organization Alumni” participant on their organization’s DonorDrive page.
- July 11 – Matching Day
- At 10 a.m., every third donation is matched up to $100 until funds run out. At 6 p.m., every other student donation up to $10 is matched until funds run out.
- July 15 - 22 – Alternative Fundraiser Challenge
- Register your Summer Alternative Fundraiser on THINK on or before July 15 for the chance to win crediting funds. Five winners will be awarded $100.
- July 29 – Pass the Spark
- Tune in to the @PennStateTHON Instagram for a recap of the Ignite the Fight campaign and an interactive way to “pass the spark” to an incoming or current Penn State student you want to see get involved with THON 2025.
THON Weekend 2025 will be held from Feb. 21 - 23. The 46-hour no sleeping, no sitting dance marathon will be held at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Last year, THON raised a record high $16.9 million for Four Diamonds, its sole beneficiary.
