Actress from Scranton hits the big screen

Quinn Hemphill has a role in a new movie that hit the big screen

SCRANTON, Pa. — Bad Boys: Ride or Die is out in theaters around our area.  The fourth installment of the movie franchise features A-list actors like Will Smith and Martin Lawrence playing their normal roles of Miami police officers.

A new face in this movie comes straight from Scranton.  Quinn Hemphill plays the granddaughter of Captain Howard.  Her character gets in some dangerous situations like when she is forced to jump off a high ledge.  Quinn was excited to work with a stunt double but also did some of the action scenes herself.

The young actress says she learned so much from working on this major motion picture for three months. It was a great experience to work alongside actors like Rhea Seehorn and Vanessa Hudgens.  It's been a whirlwind week for Quinn.

The movie premiere, when she walked the red carpet in L.A., was just last Thursday.  Then, she flew back to Scranton to marry her high school sweetheart.

Now the couple is moving to Atlanta, but she is always in the process of auditioning and looking for jobs.  Quinn credits her hometown roots with helping in the business.  She learned a lot in the theater program at Scranton High School--even playing the role of "Annie" in her freshman year.  The young actress says no matter how many movies she appears in, she will always be "Quinn from Scranton."
