Rite-Aid offering free COVID-19 tests; FOX43's Matt Maisel takes you through the process

After filling out a registration application, the test itself takes about five minutes of your day.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Rite-Aid is offering drive-thru testing at more than 70 store locations across the country, including two in South Central Pennsylvania: at 115 Leader Heights Drive in York and 2604 Linglestown Road in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County.

FOX43's Matt Maisel went through the process to get a test.

You're going to want to give yourself at least 24 hours because Rite-Aid gives appointment options one day after you register. Once you sign up, Rite-Aid asks you to arrive to your testing site 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow for waiting.

Once you drive up to a testing tent, a Rite-Aid pharmacist will ask you to leave your window up to check your drivers' license. Then, they'll give you the test; a long cotton swab which you'll break in half, sticking the cotton end in a nostril and twist it around twice, then letting it sit there for 15 seconds. After that, you'll take the same swab and do the same with your other nostril. Place the swab in the vial supplied and you're done.
