HARRISBURG, Pa. — A great horned owl chick is recovering after it was found at a Harrisburg area golf course.

According to a Facebook post by Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, the chick was rescued and brought to the center. The Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Game Warden worked alongside a capture and transport volunteer with WIN to ensure the owl's safe arrival.

The baby arrived at Raven Ridge with no injuries and is rapidly gaining weight.

According to the Facebook post, Raven Ridge has a foster great horned owl named Pharaoh who will take care of the chick. Officials are confident that the baby will receive the best care possible under Pharaoh's guidance.

The team's goal is to ensure that the owls recognize their natural behaviors and do not imprint on humans.
