YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The Cadbury Bunny contest is underway with Easter less than three weeks away and two York County animals are semi-finalists!
Sheldon, a miniature donkey, and Violet, a barn cat, live on Lacy Geisler's farm in Dover. Both are no strangers to the contest!
Since 2019, the chocolate company has put out open calls for pet owners looking to cast their beloved animals as the next big star of the "Cadbury Bunny" commercial.
While there will be several winners throughout the contest, the grand prize recipient will secure a spot in next year's candy commercial, alongside a $7,000 cash prize.
Additional contestants this year include:
- Betty, a bearded dragon from Redmond, Washington.
- Apollo, a bearded dragon from Harrisburg, South Dakota.
- Royal, a Hyacinth macaw from La Salle, Illnois.
- Mr. Doodle, a hen from Altha, Florida.
- Tober, a Polish rabbit from Princeton, Minnesota.
- Little RedBird, a blind guinea pig from Terra Alta, West Virginia.
- Sheldon, a bunny from Jacksonville, North Carolina.
- Goldie, a teddy bear hamster from Phoenix, Arizona.
- Loki, a cat from Hampton Bays, New York.
- Elsa, a cat from Pass Christian, Mississippi.
- Cyrus, a chihuahua from Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
- Rorschach, a registered therapy cat from Columbia, Illinois.
- Coconut, a former street cat from Phoenix, Arizona.
- Luke, a cat with spinal bifida from Danbury, Connecticut.
- Mia, an amputee rescue cat from Nicholasville, Kentucky.
- Mocha, a pitbull mix from Sacramento, California.
- Dex, a Goldendoodle from Gilbert, Arizona.
- Kona, a one-eyed rescue chihuahua from Vancouver, Washington.
- Nina, a rescue German Shepard mix from Santa Ana, California.
- Sylvan, a Goldendoodle from Morrisville, Pennsylvania.
- Bodi, an English lab from Hampton, New Hampshire.
- McKenna, a deaf Old English Sheepdog from Traverse City, Michigan.
- Gravy, a rescue cat from Jackson City, Tennesee.
- Harper, a Yorkie from West Valley City, Utah.
- Manny, a Gyspy Vanner horse from Newport, New Hampshire.
- Schooner, a Palomino Quater therapy horse from Selma, Texas.
- Chowder, a rescue corgi born with a genetic mutation from Watauga, Texas.
- Louie, the raccoon from Miami, Florida.
- Chevelle, the Nigerian dwarf goat from Mocksville, North Carolina.
- Peaches, a miniature therapy horse with dwarfism from Andover, Massachusetts.
Public voting opened on March 11 and will run through March 23. Voters can make their voices heard on Cadbury's Instagram Account.
