LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — An owl found on the windshield wiper of a delivery truck is receiving treatment in Lancaster County.

According to a Facebook post by Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, the large bird was spotted on the delivery truck. Concerned citizens immediately knew something was wrong since the owl was out in broad daylight.

A volunteer with Raven Ridge carefully removed the owl and placed it in a box for transport. The juvenile Great Horned Owl was severely dehydrated, thin, weak, was suffering from a left-wing injury and had an upper-respiratory infection.

According to Raven Ridge, the owl is responding well to treatment in a warm incubator and is slowly regaining its strength. At this time, it still needs to be hand-fed and medicated, but officials are hopeful for a full recovery!
